 Apart from the beach in Carvoeiro itself you also have the beautiful beaches to the east and west of Carvoeiro which are one of Carvoeiro’s strongest attractions.
Praia da Rocha is a magnificent and very large beach near Portamao on the western side of the river Arade.
Over the river to the east you have the lovely old fishing village of Ferragudo which has a long very safe beach for children right on the river Arade.
Further east towards Carvoeiro you have the popular beach of Caneiros. You can walk right on to the beach in Carvoeiro which is very sheltered by rising cliffs on either side.
A short drive or a moderately long walk east of Carvoeiro is Centianes beach. Steps lead down to this long and very popular beach.
Heading further east you have the small beach at Benagil.
The beach of Marinha is located on a spectacular stretch of coastline. Steps lead down to this long beach with beautiful views on the way down to the beach. |
